The Gemin vineyards extend over an area of about 7 hectares among the hills of Valdobbiadene.
Our vineyards are located in the various municipalities that make up the historic area of the DOCG Conegliano Valdobbiadene, in the areas most suited to viticulture, where the bunch of grapes acquires intrinsic quality characteristics, which only those areas can give. The vines of these vineyards are very old and in some cases even reach the threshold of 100 years. The prevailing form of farming is the double upside down, which allows the Glera grape variety to express itself in the best way in the production of the bunches.
The composition of the soil varies depending on the different areas: marl is the main component and differs depending on the different percentages of clay in the soil. Specifically, in the area of Cartizze we have the presence of white sandstones of marine origin and a strong presence of limestone. In general the soils are very draining and shallow. Another very important component is the exposure of the vineyards.
The latter is set in such a way that the vineyards take advantage of the greatest possible time of the hours of light during the day and then you guarantee a complete maturation of the cluster. In the historic area of Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG all operations in the vineyard are carried out strictly by hand, to keep intact the heritage that each vineyard preserves inside. All these characteristics lead to the production of sparkling wines with finesse, elegance and complexity out of the ordinary and that are expression of a hilly territory UNESCO heritage.
